“Capturing the West; A Two Person Show,” is the title of the April 2016 Deming Arts Center exhibit featuring Holli Strand and Jack Walker. Holli Strand, an award winning artist, born and raised in southwest New Mexico and now living in the Tucson area depicts the beauty of New Mexico and Arizona through her paintings. Her work reflects the influence of the southwest and allows her to combine realism with a touch of her own style. She also does commission work for people from all over the world, which vary in subject and style.
Jack Walker, a sculptor, has forged his talent on the anvil of experience. His earliest influences were ranchers and horsemen and his art is a glimpse into of the daily life of the American Cowboy. The years spent, working with cowboys, horses and cattle, bring depth and dimension to each piece he creates and Jack is well known for his detailed and accurate western bronzes. Jack has entered and won awards at some of the most prestigious fine art shows and has been featured in national publications, including Southwest Art, Horses In Art, The Judges Choice and Western Horseman magazines.
