The annual Luna County Fine Arts & Crafts Show will be presented as the May 2026 exhibit at the Deming Art Center. Featured will be local artists and crafters from Luna County. It showcases many different mediums including painting, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry and more. Anyone living in Luna County is eligible to participate with up to 3 items. The exhibit will be up from May 3-29, 2026 (Closed Memorial Day). There will be a time to meet the artists on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 1PM- 2:30PM.

April 2026 at the Deming Art Center will feature the wonderful designs and innovative creations of the Deming High School art students. It is always exciting to see what they have created, and we invite the community to support these young artists by stopping by to see for yourselves.  The exhibit will be up from April 2 – 29, 2026. There will be a time to meet these talented student artists on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, from 1-2:30PM at the Deming Art Center.

The DAC turns into a wonderland of color and an exciting fabric display in March. The show will exhibit bed-size quilts, along with wall hangings, challenges, dolls, bead art and smaller quilted items. Many will be for sale. The exhibit will be up from March 2-28, 2026 with an opportunity to meet the artists on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 1-2:30 PM.

February 2026, at the Deming Art Center will feature Deming native Joseph Chavez. Recognized internationally for his sacred art, Joseph Chavez has also documented historical events that have seldom received exposure. The One Man Show, will depict various native tribes of the Americas that have shaped the world’s history. From the Aztec Empire and the cultivation of corn and tomatoes to the Navajo development of pain relievers, and antiseptics to the development of the syringe by Lakota Sioux. This exhibit will fascinate the viewer with credit given to numerous tribes throughout the Americas. The exhibit will be on display from February 3-27, 2026. There will be a time to meet the artist on Sunday, February 8, from 1-2:30PM. The Deming Art Center is located at 100 S. “Mixed Media Assemblage Art & Photography” is the title of the January, 2026, Exhibit at Deming Art Center. It will feature the artwork of Vickie Voiers Morrow and Diane Alire. Vickie is a former Deming resident who specializes in assemblage art, bringing pieces that will be reminiscent of her life in Deming and also her Guardian Angel pieces among other things. Diane Alire, a photographer and print maker, has lived in New Mexico since 2001 and has her own Gallery, Gallery 925, in Las Cruces. She has a Masters in Photography and has taught Photography and Print Making in Albuquerque and Las Cruces. Diane is attracted to the more gritty subjects for her photography – juxtaposing images in a way to provoke and leave interpretation to the viewer. Her latest works are black and white photographs which are then hand colored with transparent oils, pan pastels and colored pencils. The exhibit will be on display from January 3-30, 2026.

The boutique will run from December 2-30, 2025, and there will be a time to meet the artists on Sunday, December 7, from 1-2:30 PM. Closed on Christmas.

The Deming Art Center is excited to present the annual Recycle Show which is sponsored by Luna County and “Keep Luna County Beautiful.” Featured will be pieces of art made from at least 90% recycled materials and crafted by artists of all ages. Intake will be Wednesday, November 1. Show will be judged, and prizes awarded. Sunday, November 2, the public is invited to the official show opening and a time to meet the artists from 1-2:30PM. The show runs from November 3 – 28. Closed on Thanksgiving.

The Deming Art Center will feature the annual DAC Membership exhibit. Anyone who is a member is eligible to participate and there will be a diverse body of work on display. The show will run from October 2-30, 2025. Intake will be on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. There will be a time to meet the artists on Sunday, October 5, 2024 from 1PM – 2:30PM and all are welcome.

An exhibit devoted entirely to “Our Feathered Friends,” will be the subject of the September 2024 art display at the Deming Art Center. Stop by and step into a fantastical world of birds. The show will be up from September 4-28, 2024. There will be a time to meet the artists on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 1PM- 2:30PM.

“Folk Art” is the subject of the August 2024 exhibit at the Deming Art Center. Folk Art has been described as art made from the heart and can be decorative as well as being created for practical purposes. The exhibit will be up from August 2-30, 2024. There will be a time to meet the artists on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 1PM- 2:30PM.

The Potter’ s Guild of Las Cruces will present the July 2024 Fire and Fiber Show at the Deming Art Center. It promises to be one of their best.  There are 18 artisans and over thirty artworks.  Works vary from elaborate pottery and macrame hangings to fine figurative sculpture with a bit of fiber. There are ravens, tortoise, and ancient cliff dwellings to a warrior goddess with a tile and fiber crown. Pandora’s Box will be opened to view a vision ball of pottery, beads and fiber.  There will be at least one vessel of fiber and pottery flowers.  All work is for sale. This show will give the viewer a feast for the eyes and senses.  The many artful ways clay can be shaped, sculpted, stamped, formed, manipulated will be available and on display. This is brought to you by the people who make Empty Bowls possible.  There will be a time to meet the artists on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 1-2:30PM. The exhibit will be up from July 2-30, 2024.

The DAC turns into a wonderland of color and an exciting fabric display in March. The local quilting club, The Quilting B’s will exhibit bed-size quilts, along with wall hangings, challenges, dolls, bead art and smaller quilted items. Many will be for sale. This year there will be two quilts that will be raffled off and a silent auction. The silent auction will feature several antique quilts, two antique throws, and some new quilts. The raffle and silent auction will take place on March 29 at 3 pm. The exhibit will be up from March 2-29, 2024.
