Meet the artists behind the annual Recycle Show on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 1–2:30 PM at the Deming Art Center. Visitors can learn how artists of all ages transformed recycled materials into creative works of art, hear about their artistic process, and celebrate the importance of sustainability through creativity.
Meet the artists behind the June exhibit on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 1–2:30 PM at the Deming Art Center. This relaxed event gives visitors a chance to connect with Dorothy Waddell’s students, hear about their creative process, and celebrate their first exhibition together.
The Deming Arts Council will hold its Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, June 3 at 5 PM at the Deming Arts Center.
During the meeting, members will elect new Board members and officers. Members interested in serving on the Board must submit a written request at least one week prior to the meeting.
This is a members-only event. If you’re unable to attend, Vote by Proxy forms are available at the DAC front desk.
The annual Luna County Fine Arts & Crafts Show will be presented as the May 2026 exhibit at the Deming Art Center. Featured will be local artists and crafters from Luna County. It showcases many different mediums including painting, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry and more. Anyone living in Luna County is eligible to participate with up to 3 items. The exhibit will be up from May 3-29, 2026 (Closed Memorial Day). There will be a time to meet the artists on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 1PM- 2:30PM.
Stop in to meet the many talented student artists from the Deming High School on Sunday, April 12th, 2026 from 1-2:30 PM. It is always exciting to see what they have created, and we invite the community to support these young artists by stopping by to see for yourselves. The exhibit will be up from April 2 – 29, 2026.
Stop in to meet the artists of the 2026 Annual Quilt Show on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 1-2:30 PM. The DAC turns into a wonderland of color and an exciting fabric display in March. The show will exhibit bed-size quilts, along with wall hangings, challenges, dolls, bead art and smaller quilted items. Many will be for sale. The exhibit will be up from March 2-28, 2026.
Join us for a special opportunity to meet Deming native and internationally recognized sacred artist Joseph Chavez on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 1:00–2:30 PM at the Deming Art Center. This meet-the-artist event is held in conjunction with Chavez’s One Man Show, which highlights the significant contributions of Indigenous tribes throughout the Americas and will be on display from February 3–27, 2026.

The Deming Art Center is excited to present the annual Recycle Show which is sponsored by Luna County and “Keep Luna County Beautiful.” Featured will be pieces of art made from at least 90% recycled materials and crafted by artists of all ages. Intake will be Wednesday, November 1. Show will be judged, and prizes awarded. Sunday, November 2, the public is invited to the official show opening and a time to meet the artists from 1-2:30PM. The show runs from November 3 – 28. Closed on Thanksgiving.

Join us for a Watercolor Glass with John Glass on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Deming Arts Center. John will be presenting a class in Andrew Wyeth style using the painting pictured with the event. The painting will be 8 x 10 with a 11 x 14 mat. This project will involve the use a pen to create some portions of the painting. All materials and paints will be supplied. The price of the class is $35.00 and must be paid at the time of sign up.
